10 Years Today Since My Dad Passed Away (24th May 2002 - 24th May 2012) Pt 3

I chose to have my favourite Fish & Chips, which i do like to have when Mum, Helen, & I go out for a Meal anywhere, eg (Family holidays to the Seaside etc, or even just day trips to the Seaside). emoticon emoticon emoticon

Whilst Mum & Helen went to the Bar to give the Barman our Food order, & pay for it all, then they both came & sat back down with me again, i must admit i was really looking forward to our meal as i was starting to feel hungry, id already had breakfast (Bowl of Bran Flakes, with a Splash of Milk, & no Sugar), before i left home. emoticon emoticon

Within about 30 minutes our Meals came, Helens was placed infront of her 1st, i thought it did look really good, then Mums was placed infront of her, i also thought that it looked really god too, then mine was placed down infront of me, i thought bloody hell!!!!, how the hell!!!!, am i going to be able to eat this meal!!!!

The portions on the Main Meals were absolutely massive!!!!, it took me absolutely ages to plough through it!!!!, both Mum & Helen had already finished both their meals, whilst i struggled to get through mine, as the piece of Fish that i had on my plate was absolutely massive!!!!. !!!!. emoticon emoticon emoticon

As you can see/tell by the above emoticons/pictures at the end of the last sentence, i was absolutely full up!!!!, !!!!.

Bearing in mind that the fish was covered in thick thick tasty batter, (pure pure heavenly bliss), i eventually had to leave the batter, & just finish off the fish & a few chips, that were left on the plate. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Just as i had finished off the fish & few chips, that were left on my plate, our desserts came, Helen decided not to have a dessert, as she was full up + she had been to an earlier Hospital appointment & had been weighed. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Mum chose to have a piece of Bakewell Tart wiv Custard (i fink), & i chose to have a piece of Blackforest Gateau wiv Cream, which i enjoyed so much that i *Wolfed Down* the whole thing in 2& 1/2 SpoonFulls emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

*Wolfed Down* means that i enjoyed it very very much.

We were so full, that it took time for our food to go down, b4 we could even think about moving to go to the Car & go back to Helens house for a drink & relax/sunbathe in the Garden!!!!. emoticon emoticon

    Love big portions so I can bring them home and eat them later! HAHA.

Love that you all went home to be bloated and sunbathe! Sounds like me, except that I am so pale I get red and then I peel and turn pink. That's the German & English in me.

    We were talking about half in a doggie bag today at lunch. I had asked for a Reuben wo meat and dressing to the side. I was trying to catch the waiter to ask her to have the bread toasted not grilled. Lol Everyone was poking fun a what a snobbish eater I am! I just smiled and said I read in an article last week it was okay to be picky. I really bragged on the cook and the waiter and in the end Everyone was smiling!

    Oop, I see it's already been said, asking for the 1/2 in a doggie bag. Hope your fish was as good as it was massive. In April, I was in Halifax, NS and had the best seafood plate I've probably ever had in my life... everything was very lightly battered only, clams, cod strips and something else.. I can't believe I forget, it was so good. Then after I came back home I went out with a friend to Joey's Only, and it cost me $15 and if I had been alone, I know I would have returned it, but as it was, it was so hard, I could hardly bite it...

or another littler secret is to order the senior's portion, they are often more like proper meal size poritions.

    Remember that just because someone puts food in front of you, they can't force you to eat it all. Leaving some on your plate or taking half of it home in a doggy bag (if you can) will help with your goals to live a healthier lifestyle. Also, if you know ahead of time that the portions are large you can ask the server to give you a half serving, order off a kids/seniors menu, or ask them to bring you half the meal and put the other half right into a take-out container. That way you're not so tempted to finish it all because you're staring at it and don't want to waste.
