Well I was a lil discouraged when I knew it wouldn't be smart to go for an hour walk with temperatures in the high 90's even at 8 pm! So HOTT!
I tried a new workout dvd I bought. I did the first two levels of the Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition workout. It totaled about 45 minutes.
I gotta say-- I am actually kinda glad I chose to do the dvd. I got a great workout and worked new muscles.. and best of all I GOT TO REST MY SHINS. yay!!!!!!!
Last night my shins were hurting so bad from walk/jogging that I had to ice them twice. So this actually turned out great!
I have bad knees so I wasn't too excited about the squats and lunges in this video! Luckily they have modified versions of those moves. I did the modified versions where needed and still had my heart going. I could see how this dvd might not be much of a challenge to someone who was much smaller.. but it was a great workout for me.
I know I need to try to fit my workouts into my mornings.. but I am not a morning person. I am not going to make any promises on that. I am happy that I am exercising at all :)
It was still in the high 90's when it was almost time to be dark-- UGH. .
It was hot when I was in Lubbock last week but it seemed like more of a dry heat so it wasn't so sticky and yucky. Here where I am at it is soo humid that you start breaking a sweat as soon as you walk out the front door.
So -- I am no longer upset that I broke a walking streak..
Instead I am excited that I continued an exercise streak!
No matter if I am walking, swimming, working out to a video, dancing to music-- whatever it may be- I will be happy that I am moving my body and changing my life!
