The exercise streak is not broken!!

Well I was a lil discouraged when I knew it wouldn't be smart to go for an hour walk with temperatures in the high 90's even at 8 pm! So HOTT!

I tried a new workout dvd I bought. I did the first two levels of the Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition workout. It totaled about 45 minutes.

I gotta say-- I am actually kinda glad I chose to do the dvd. I got a great workout and worked new muscles.. and best of all I GOT TO REST MY SHINS. yay!!!!!!!

Last night my shins were hurting so bad from walk/jogging that I had to ice them twice. So this actually turned out great!

I have bad knees so I wasn't too excited about the squats and lunges in this video! Luckily they have modified versions of those moves. I did the modified versions where needed and still had my heart going. I could see how this dvd might not be much of a challenge to someone who was much smaller.. but it was a great workout for me.

I know I need to try to fit my workouts into my mornings.. but I am not a morning person. I am not going to make any promises on that. I am happy that I am exercising at all :)

It was still in the high 90's when it was almost time to be dark-- UGH. .

It was hot when I was in Lubbock last week but it seemed like more of a dry heat so it wasn't so sticky and yucky. Here where I am at it is soo humid that you start breaking a sweat as soon as you walk out the front door.

So -- I am no longer upset that I broke a walking streak..

Instead I am excited that I continued an exercise streak!

No matter if I am walking, swimming, working out to a video, dancing to music-- whatever it may be- I will be happy that I am moving my body and changing my life!

    Heck yeah!! It sounds like you had a great workout. I was always great about exercising and such when I was in high school volleyball. I loved having the hardcore drill sergeant coach pushing me to my limit-- then making me push way past it. I need that! Well workout videos are great for me because working out with the coach on the video helps me push myself further than I do alone. Even though they can't see what I'm doing... weird. It's fun too! Glad you got a great workout! There are some fun video workouts on your start page too if you haven't tried them yet.... I really like Coach Nicole -- the 7 day workout is awesome as well as the NEW YOU. There is a whole bunch to choose from emoticon You rocked it today ***super high five***

    woo-hoo! Congrats, way to go on staying active. I hear ya about the squats - squats are not my friend! I'm also no a morning person but I figure even if I do my workouts later in the day, at least Im still moving. Keep up the awesome work!

    I feel your pain about the knees and the shins. I have a bum knee from a Taekwondo match injury from High School. I've been to countless rehab sessions so pain is a way of life now. Way to keep going and use creativity to continue to reach for your goals. Here is a big hug! emoticon I'm here to support you and we got this!
