My calendar reminded me that it today is 250 days since I had my Lapband surgery. I put that reminder on my calendar for a few reasons. The obvious one is to share with others. Of course there is the part of wanting to be proud of where I am!
The biggest deal for me right now is seeing the scale under 200 pounds for the first time in MANY (and I mean MANY!) years! But there are so many other subtle yet profound changes since that day back in September 2011:
- I run regularly now!
- Waist = 35!
- LOTS of energy! As an example, I have yet to bring the riding mower out of the garage this season, as I am using the self-propelled to do all of my mowing (and that is 1.3 acres of grass to mow!).
- Clothes: Besides the waist size I mentioned above, my oldest daughter asked me yesterday what shirt size I was wearing these days, and I proudly told her "large"! This from the same guy who a year ago was wondering if I was going to have to start wearing XXXL's!
Still more to accomplish, but I am so thrilled at the changes over the past 250 days!
Onward to day 300....
