Continued to cut back on gardens and so moved the birdhouse that my son made me to the backyard gardens.
Mary painted some lattice and a picture frame to put on the fence. We'll have Ivy growing up around the picture frame and Morning Glory growing up the purple lattice.
We ENJOYED the birds! So entertaining to watch our little friends. We have robins in a nest and SWEET Phoebes in a nest and we could sit and watch their interactions all day long!
Another highlight with the birds is our little friend "Fat Finch"! He can barely fly because he's been feasting at the feeder!
He was eating out of Mary's hand and flew right when I took the pic.
We also worked on our veggie garden, strawberry patch, in the greenhouse, and in the flower gardens. Here are few highlights from my transplanting efforts, and decorating. I finally feel I'm getting my head above water! I've thoroughly enjoyed sitting in my "Fragrant Memories" and communing quietly among God's handiwork.
Yes, I got LOTS of fitness minutes this weekend in my gardens!
As for my eating--NOT so hot this weekend! Very disappointing since I'd had such a good week--but back on the horse today! I will conquer through Jesus! BTW, I want to write a blog in response to everyone's comments the other day, but until then, THANK YOU for your awesome support! You guys TOTALLY rock!!!!
I so love, love LOVE your beautiful garden! How do you STAND the cold months just waiting for it? I also adore birds! That finch was adorable! Not as adorable as Mary, though!
Your gardens look so soothing, a wonderful place to relax--now that you've got the work done. lol You're a great photographer, too! Oh, and your deck looks great!
I n so enjoyed your pictures! That little gold finch is so cute! We have an albino one this year! His color is very, very pale yellow...almost like straw! He was here last year and again this year! Like you I love watching all the birds!
Absolutely breathtaking!! Your gardens are beautiful!!! I love the creativity in both your garden designs and the decorating!!
On another note- you inspired me to do a 30 day sugar fast after I saw you did a 40 day sugar fast. It was great- I felt great and had great time with God!!
Sad that "Fat Finch" died after this blog. But indeed it is a lesson from nature. I am very much feeling like "Fat Kathy" lately and I do not want to end up like "Fat Finch". The pictures were awesome!
As I look at these pictures I can almost hear the birds, smell the fresh air, and feel peace enter my soul. Thank you for sharing. I'm sure you will have much enjoyment from all your hard work.
Your garden is beautiful and full of neat things, So creative. Never saw such a fat finch Looking at the pictures just carry you away into God's beautiful creations. Thanks for the tour and you sure are working hard.
I love your gardens and your birds. Birds and Blooms! I worked in my gardens today. Planted a couple of new plants. My first paycheck, I am planning on filling in some holes with new plants. Gardening is therapeutic in so many ways. Wish I could come visit...some day maybe?!
I just love your garden wish I could just take a seat back there myself and enjoy the beauty of it all. I just love looking at Gods handy work. My backyard needs help would love it to look like this. Have a great week!
Susan, Your pictures are just Beautiful! Your yard and your house are just Beautiful! Your family is PRECIOUS! Thank You for sharing these wonderful pictures and your thoughts with us.
You have such incredible LOVE all around you through your family, nature, and critters. As God has his hand entwined through all of this, may this become your new "comfort" food. You are so blessed and will enjoy your yard (and get lots of quality fitness minutes in) and deck for many years to come!
Susan---- Your pictures are wonderful!! I can say that you are a landscape "artist" because the pictures look like magazine photos. BTW... I also enjoy the birds. We have about 15 feeders and many kinds of birds find our backyard. Just wish that the chipmunk population was smaller. These critters rob the feeders, and I don't know the solution to this problem. Thanks, Susan, for the pictures--- And Mary's picture is darling!
