Back in 2008, I lost my full time job. At that time, I had a regular schedule in which, had I used it, I should have focused on my health and well being. Fast forward to now, I have worked an extraordinary number of part time jobs; earned a masters degree; and done nothing more for my health. It has gotten worse: increased weight; bad back; poor digestive system; decreased energy; etc.
I recall writing a blog about my not having health insurance because I have no full time job. Quite honestly ... I don't know if I could get affordable health insurance when I finally get a full time job because I now have pre-existing conditions.
Now because I can sit down and focus on getting a job; I mean I actually have time to myself; I can focus on my health. My sister, who loves me so tough, presented many good arguments about eating a plant based diet. It makes a lot of sense. I hope (with your help SparkPeople) that I can develop good habits so that I can make better decisions about my health.
Most importantly, I need to get started ... which I have. I am walking at least 3 times per week. I am sleeping more. I am cooking on a stove (not a microwave ... I miss my microwave) and using an oven.
My goals include:
* tracking my food intake
* exercising everyday (not like I don't have things at my home)
* eating smaller meals
* eating more meals
* not eating after 8 pm
* blog more frequently
I hope to see you all on SparkPeople more often.
