10 Miles.

If you've read any of my other blog entries, you know that I used to hate running. In fact, until recently I had only run a mile straight without stopping once in my life... and I passed out afterwards. That was at an 8:20 pace in high school. Never since then had I even broken 12 minutes or so until I started playing Humans vs. Zombies... and discovered that running wasn't all so bad. In fact, I kind of love it :)

I ran one mile for the first time since high school without stopping on January 11th, 2011. My next goal was to run a 5k without stopping to walk... and I did that on February 20th, 2011. I tried to train for a 10k, but sadly lost interest and plateaued for a while.

This time, I'm training for a 10 mile run. That's right... not a 10k, but 10 miles. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler at Disney World! I found out about the existence of this race literally the day after it filled up completely. I joined the wait list and I've finally been accepted into the race! It's in September, and I'm already pumped up and training for it.

Off for another training run. Wish me luck!

    That is great!!! I love training with a race in mind (especially a fun one!)- that is a great source of motivation...

Now that you have a goal in mind - work out a plan...
