Back from vacation....family weigh in...

Last year I was 6 pounds lighter when we went to France. Eek! I gained 2 lbs. on that vacation last June.

This year I was hoping not to gain more than 2 lbs but I feel like I've been struggling with injuries, mentally frazzled, and just general lack of purpose and focus over the last few months. My plan was to start another program such as P90X, INSANITY, or a hybrid of some sort upon return.

So I started with a 'family weigh in' after we got the dogs this morning. Actually 'Cubbydaddy' said he'd do his weigh in after our walk. I say that's cheating b/c you'll lose some water weight always in this heat. He's yet to do his and I won't bug him over it emoticon

Here's the report...
Cubbymamma 121.5 vacation weight gain 1.5lbs. I consider this a success.
Cubby 18.5 don't know what pre-vacation weight was.
Should be closer to 16 - 17lbs
Oscar 25.5 oooh goodness, this is high. Oscar looks like a
sausage. In fact, I think he gained as much as I
did. We have been trying to get him to 22-23lbs
with no luck the last few months.
Cubbydaddy unrecorded. self report is estimating 5-7lb weight gain. Gosh that's a lot for a week and I think he's probably wrong. But he's going on...'gut instinct'. hahah! Truly, he said he's going by how his gut looks. It looks like he ate well.

Interesting thing on this trip was one of the ladies had also worked with a professional organizer. Longer ago than last year, but she knew the lady I worked with last summer and we talked about our abysmal failures at home organization. But it was nice to meet someone in the same boat and hear she had trouble holding it up. I told I would email her weekly for accountability if we wanted to start again.

I have some new goals to set.....I would like to start a new round of exercise and think that it's time to pull out the whole INSANITY box and do another round straight through. It helped me over the hump last time when I needed to kick start my exercise routine. I'm hoping it will not aggravate the elbow and Achilles problems I've been having through and since 'X2'.

Then I saw the Ultimate Yogi DVD set giveaway and OOOh do I need to win that! Do I wait until I win to start, or do I just suck it up and order it now? I would love to try it out and love to hear if anyone's got some feedback on it. I'm checking the message boards when I get done!!

so FIT test for INSANITY today! I'm going to toss my old ones if I find them, and I'M NOT TAKING PICTURES!!!

OH HOLY COW! it's 135pm and the doorbell just rang..HE ORDERED PIZZA HUT.
AGGGGG! I haven't even done the FIT TEST YET.

    Hey Fifi, I am familiar with the fly lady and read the book several years ago. I was pretty down at the time and the putting on SHOES part was big!!
The organizer came in and said 'what is bothering you most?' and that is where we started. The shameful thing was the first 3 times she came, for 3 hours each session, all we did was organize and put away my clothes. I had to fold and try on things, then reorganize my closet. It was awful.
We worked on my papers, the desk, made a little office for me, and lots of other stuff. I've still got a little office with papers on the ground now, and the magazines always a challenge. Some parts 'took' better than others. But kinda like having the Fly Lady right there on your elbow asking you what is this piece of paper?, where should it go?, etc.

and that pizza...well...he got the low-quality boneless wings and I ate one. I looked up 1 slice of deep dish cheese pizza and for 270 calories, NOT WORTH IT. Whew.

You know what you're saying about a daily session...I had looked at doing something every day, and I have in the past put a note to spend 15 minutes in different areas but I've not done it. Now I'm thinking if I schedule it for a real thing - something very specific instead of just to clear the bathroom counter - that might be easier. If I looked at it the same way as I do exercise, I think that would help a lot.

    Cubbymama I put on the same amount from my vacation just now, that is pretty good going I think and I count it as normal variation. Not so sure what effect the pizza will have though, none if you don't eat it!
As for the organization, I am a fly baby, I find Flylady really helps and have decided to include a session every day instead of only on my non work days.
Over the next year I expect to be decluttered and orderly in my home, garden and financial affairs, though not quite sure exactly how just at the moment.
I'd be glad of any support and encouragement especially in the home environment, though I haven't had the services of a home organizer , what did she do???
