It is so hard to not focus on the number at my feet as I step on the scale. I know I shouldn't weigh everyday, but it is nearly impossible for me not to get hung up and almost obsessed with getting out of bed and weighing in the morning. It's like I have to know if I've lost weight. That is however my goal and my competitive nature just takes over. You would think that would be a win, win situation for weight loss, but not always. My official weigh in day with WW is on Friday. I got back on the WW wagon on Monday, May 28th, and by Friday, June 1st, had dropped an amazing 7.2 pounds.
I have continued to drop steadily until this morning. Ugh. I weighed and I gained 1.2 pounds yesterday.
Keep in mind, I never use my weekly points on WW and don't go over my daily points. I have been walking in the swimming pool, as I have an ankle injury and it is about the only exercise I have found that I can tolerate. It's hard not to just say forget it and go back to eating the kitchen, but I know that isn't the answer. I WANT to weigh less. I WANT to be able to where cute clothes and look good in them. To achieve those goals, I have to push past the immediate impulse to eat whatever I can get my hands on and stick to the plan. It will pay off in the end...at least that's the goal.
I have never been good at setting goals for myself. Probably because I have never stuck to a diet long enough to see the payoff and achieve the high goal I set. So this time I am going to try setting small goals along the way, and hopefully I will be successful.
My goals for June are:
• Lose 12 pounds minimum
• Increase my pool walking to an hour a day
• Implement some yoga into my weekly routine at least 3x per week
• Use the weight machine 3x per week
• Stick to WW
I also find that reward entice me to stick to goals so I plan to reward myself with a day at the spa when my goals are met for June.
