This is one bird I enjoy. They are always singing away, or imitating another bird.
It's funny to hear them squawk like a Scrub Jay. I was going to write a bit of info on the bird, but I found this link that has a lot of interesting information that will be at the bottom of the page. Some of the Mockingbirds that cooperated for me.

It's funny. The article says Mockingbirds do not prefer Pine Trees, but I see this Mockingbird in ours now and then.

Our tree in the backyard

I couldn't resist. One of my favorite songs!

Once more - lovely pictures. I have watched them, but never seen them as upclose as your pictures present them. I never tried talking to them. I'll have to let DH know as he is the talker in the family!! Thanks for the info.

We have a few Mockingbirds in our neighborhood...I love to hear them sing too. The ones we have here are very aggressive...they will attack the neighborhood cats...especially during nesting...but I think they sometimes just do it for fun! We sit on our porch and watch the antics...the cats are always ducking for cover and seem to cower every time they hear a screech!

Great Pics! My sister has a nest of Mockingbird babies in her back yard, but she said every time she tries to look at them the parents dive bomb here - LOL. She said they were even after an owl one night. Just trying to protect their babies!

I love Mockingbirds! When the other birds seem to be closed mouthed, the Mockingbird sings all their songs and keeps a smile on my face!! emoticon

They used to dive bomb my dog in the back yard, but now all parties seem to have made a truce.

If you are good at whistling you can talk to them. They repeat your sounds quite well.

I've never seen one. You are so great at identifiying birds. I see a bird and very seldom, unless it is a commonly known one, am able to tell which bird it is. You bless us with your love for them. Thank you!

Great pictures! I have cardinals that visit my yard -- I've snapped dozens of photos of them. The female always stays hidden in the trees, but the male is more than happy to strike a pose for me.
