Goals, plans & other random things going on

Saturday, June 02, 2012

Whew it feels good to get a whole week of staying in my calorie range behind me! It also doesn't hurt that I seemed to lose about 7 lbs in a week. I doubt I actually lost 7 lbs because last week was shark week plus I was eating a bunch of crap so I'm sure I was like double bloated. haha Gross huh? So I now weigh 213 lbs which puts me back at 100 lbs lost which I am extremely happy about. Next goal is to get back into Onederland. I'm gonna bust my butt & see if I can't make that happen by the end of the month. 13 lbs in one month? For me with my usual weight loss rate it seems a little out of reach but I am going to be optimistic & work really hard & see where that gets me. Can't hurt. And if I don't make that goal then at least I know I got as close as I possibly could which is fine with me.

Next Monday I am going to start the South Beach Diet. I'm waiting until next week because I still have a lot of frozen dinners & other food that I need to eat but that don't fit in the diet plan. I hate to waste food & money so I'm going to eat the food I have but start phasing it out. So when I go to the store later this week I'm just going to buy food that I can eat on SB until all the food that doesn't fit in the plan is eaten & then I can start the SBD. I'm excited to give it a try. I'm going to try doing it without counting calories since you don't have to on this diet but if I stall with my weight loss or gain I'm going to start counting them again to make sure I'm not eating too much. I've read a lot of people say that eating this way makes them have less cravings. If it works for me I would be ecstatic because I feel like I am constantly battling food cravings. I'm always telling myself "no Angela you don't need that it doesn't fit in your calorie range" but it makes me feel deprived & it's like this constant battle so if I could lose that it'd be awesome! haha

I'm still not exercising the way I said I was going to. I have got to start taking my dog for walks. Right now I just take him outside & let him run around while I watch & read a book. lol Talk about lazy! I just hate exercising outside here. It's always so darn windy! And if I wait to only exercise outside on nice days I'll like never do it. haha Maybe I should start doing some exercise DVD's. I hate exercising indoors though. haha I am just going to have to compromise though. I'm going to get a couple of Jillian DVD's & try to exercise outside with the dog when it is nice. Just 30 minutes. That is like no time. I used to exercise like an hour a day. I don't know why I can't commit to just 30 minutes. I'm just always so tired after work that all I want to do is relax. I do have a pretty physical job though. I never sit down unless I'm driving a tractor. haha I walk all day long so that may be why I'm having such a hard time wanting to do anything else when I get home. But my dog NEEDS the exercise so I feel like I'm being a bad owner by not taking him for longer walks. He does come with me at night when I go over to the farm to check on my birdies but other than that he pretty much just runs outside in the yard while I sit on my butt & read. haha I am going to make myself start walking longer.

I'm not used to having a house of my own to take care of. Right now there are like a million bugs getting into my house. I bought some buy spray to spray around the perimeter of the house to try & keep them out so I have got to do that tomorrow. Also there a like a million flies here & they freaking BITE! I've never had to deal with that before but it's horrible & I have to figure out some way to get rid of them. So if anyone has any suggestions on that I'd like to know. haha I also need to get something to get rid of all the dang weeds. They're like taking over. lol And I need to think about doing some landscaping or at least buy some potted plants to put outside because it looks sad out there. haha

Anyway I have so much stuff I could keep babbling on about but I think that's enough for now.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

You're doing wonderfully. :) I'm glad you're getting yourself on track so quickly. It will all lock into place; it's hard to work around such a huge adjustment to your life and you're doing very well with it! South Beach Diet sounds like a great idea. I'd love to hear more about your experiences with it once you start.

Hope things are going well in Iowa for you!

My husband and I tore up all our weeds in a matter of one morning using a large fork gardening tool. It's really easy, but our yard also isn't huge. Still, even if yours is, this could be a good idea for the area immediately around the house.

It sounds like you're doing great. And I can completely understand not wanting to walk at night if you do it all day! Is there another exercise you might do, like swim or elliptical or hmmm... if not and you want to walk, why not start with just a 10 minute commitment, that way your dog gets a bit and you do too without having to do more than you feel like. I'll bet some days you'll walk way more, but the beauty is you don't *have* to... who knows, maybe then you'll start a C25k program ;-)

Congrats on your amazing journey thus far!!!
