Ok, I know it may seem a little corny, but my Blog title has highlighted my favorite workout songs!
It may or may not be for you or tickle your fancy, but my running playlist consists of Contemporary Christian, Christian Rock and some Christian Rap.
I know it's not for everyone, but it is encouraging, up-lifting and it doesn't awake the inner aggression that seems to come out when I listen to the older rock I used to. I feel energized and up-lifted when I'm finished working out.
The songs I highlighted were, "I Refuse" by Josh Wilson. Its chorus is "I don't want to live like I don't care.....I could chose not to move, but I refuse". Ok, from a Christian standpoint it's speaking about following God's calling on your life, but how many times have we "chosen" not to move...I have taken the I REFUSE attitude. This is the year of no excuses!!!
Stronger by Mandisa is a little slower paced song. It kind of gives me a break and gets me back in a breathing groove....Its chorus is"When the waves are taking you under, hold on just a little bit longer....the pain isn't going to last forever....believe me its going to make you stronger...." From the Christian view is that God doesn't put us through anything we can't handle. It's a song of encouragement for me.
No Plan B by Manafest is probably the song that pumps me the most!!!! "It's too late, it's my fate, I can't turn around.... I'm too far from the start, I'm in too deep, I've got to stick to the plan, because there's no plan B." It's the "push harder" song!! It's bridge is "All I know is I can't turn back, I gotta leave it in the front pass" over and over! LOVE IT!!
These are my three favorites....If you're interested in the rest of my playlist, here it is...
Fade by Runaway City (I know these guys personally...It's my warm up song.)
