Progress is a relative thing!

Saturday, June 02, 2012

Having lost 46 pounds and regained 22 of those, I have been feeling discouraged. Knee issues have been keeping me from exercising the way I like. However, I recently saw three people who I do not see often. They remember me when I was heavier. When they each told me how good I looked, it was like wind in my sails. I have been struggling to maintain, not gain. Their positive comments helped me realize my efforts are not in vain. Any progress is better than no progress. I just need to keep doing the best I can.

I started the second round of gel shots in my knees last week and had another this week. Already I am seeing improvement. Between this and the Celebrex, I have been able to begin working out again. I did the elliptical twice this week. No resistance, level one, but it felt great! I am back in the game!

emoticon on being able to work out again! Glad those people came across your path to make you feel good. You're right, it's all relative. And if there is a good side to look on, look on it! Keep fighting the good fight. (It's better to have to lose back half the weight than ALL of it. Trust me, I know!)
