June.............I'm gonna get you!!!!!!!

Ok it is..June already.

You know how I said I was gonna do 30 day shred at least 3 days a week for a month? YEAH..that didn't happen. I should be almost done by now..and I did it good for about a week and a half but I just hate having to stick to one workout..I hate it...I like variety and to decide the night before what crazy workout I'm gonna do the next morning. That's the only routine I really have. I didn't eat the best the past month probably...I've been increasingly bloated...and it makes me feel FAT. Now I've had a week of pretty good eating (minus memorial day)..and I think I'll be able to get back ...NO WAIT..I KNOW I'll be able to get back to more disciplined eating with my current clinical's LONG days mon-fri I'm either there or at my job. No time to snack (which is my downfall) I'm not home til 5-630 each night..gone by can do this..get back on track. I will say's hard to eat TOTALLY clean...I don't have a ton of money..I can barely pay my money to help Troy pay house I can't help with groceries. Troy has gotten healthier and we do have options..but I can't expect him to buy all the "crazy" stuff I'd wanna eat. So I do my best. When I'm done with this clinical and everything..I can really make more money and help with groceries and get what I want and what he wants...I do the best I can with I we have around.

As for working out...I sort of broke up with Body Rock as you all know...but I've been introduced to some more sites like BR through my friend Hannah aka What I'm going to do for June is at least 3 body rock type (HIIT) workouts a week. At least 3. IN ADDITION to whatever else I choose. OnDemand has great options and I have a collection myself.

So...goals for June:

emoticonMore disciplined eating. Less snacking or NO snacking.
emoticonAt least 3 HIIT workouts a week (in addition to my other stuff)
emoticonTry to get more protein in my diet. Anyone have any ideas for a cheap/health protein supplement?

That's it. I"m not going nuts here. I'm tired. I'm extremely busy. I'm not saying I'll do this workout or that one..I'm saying I WILL WORKOUT. LOL..that's all I can do! I'm also going to spark more. I have to..
emoticon I'm also going to blog what I eat....I need to be accountable. that's it...someone suggested it..I NEED to do it.

So here's what I've had today...(not very proud of it.)
*Bagel with scrambled egg and cheese
*Whole grain pasta with a few pieces of sliced sausage
*All natural popcorn

    I like using beans for added protein too, but need to find some new ways to make them.

I love mixing a can of black beans ans a can of corn with a bit of cilantro and eating that. Yum! If it sits over night it is even better.

    I always find it easier to work out when I don't lock myself into something. Then if I work out, but don't follow through with what I said I'd do, I still feel bad. So I think your idea of not following a set workout routine is great!

As far as protein goes, I used to make protein shakes out of Body Fortress Whey Protein and Almond Milk, but the protein powder had some artificial sweeteners in it that kind of worried me. I just stumbled across an amazing product though! It's NNW Healthy 100% Whey and it uses stevia (which is natural) as a sweetener. It tastes really good too! I also mix this with almond milk, which is only 35 calories and cup and has more nutrients and calcium than cow milk. The NNW protein powder lists these ingredients: Pure Whey Protein Concentrate, Pure Whey Protein Isolate, Cocoa Powder, Natural Flavor, Xanthan Gum, Stevia, Color Added. When I use this, I don't worry about what I'm putting into my body. It's not super expensive, and I buy it at HyVee.

    Good goals for June! I know with your determination you will ROCK this month!
Good luck with your next clinical! I know you'll do great and will likely eat less just due to long hours. Just remember to keep healthy snack options available so you don't end up at the vending machine!
Great ideas for protein sources from the other posters! emoticon

    Define, "cheap". If you mean "whole foods", beans and brown rice, tuna, eggs, +1 to greek yogurt, kefir, garbanzo beans (stuff I'm sure you already know)...if you mean like powders, to get what you want without all the additives (artificial sweeteners, etc.), probably not a decent option.

    I eat cottage cheese, HB egg whites, yogurt, and beans for protein.
Hey... I wanted to tell you that I am starting Supreme 90 Day on Monday, I am doing all the DVDs, just not in the order they recommend due to logistics... I hope I like it!!!:-)

    Hannah is a pretty fabulous resource, isn't she? That's how I found Loving Fit, and I still do classic Bodyrocks.

I was thinking now that the weather's nice, we really have to meet up sometime!

    I don't know anything about suppliments, but I do know Greek yogurt is a great way to up your protein without a whole lot of fat or without eating a bunch of meat.
