Migraine and coming back from it...

Woke up this morning with a hint of migraine – enough to keep me in bd because when I got up I immedeately started to feel nauseated and a knife in the brain. My house is a total mess it is starting to look like one in those documentaries from obsessed collectors... but I couldn´t do anything because I felt too sick. After half a day it is getting better and some salty food and a lot of fluid will make me fit to go to rehearsal this afternoon. Costume is ready and I am sort of confident. The day befor yesterday I got a total meltdown and panicked because I thought I was going to make such a fool of myself and what about all those people that pay for the tickets... after talking to others I realised that it was just an attack of "Normal" stage fright and can be handled.

This morning I also got a mail from a friend who is attending a writers course online this summer and I browsed around on the writers coach site and found a lot of inspirational tips - I am ot going to attend the course but will write a book this summer and have the idea of maybe four more... I digged out my old script for a youth book (with horses) I wrote five years ago and got refused on - and realised that I could have sent it to more than one publisher... I have the best idea to write a couple of youthn books on the subject "circus" and we can sell it at the theatre... I wrote a book of leadership that I have sold when I have been givining lectures and through the years I have sold more than 3000 books which I now know is very good for a non-fiction book in swedish from an unknown author...

My face rash is not good today and putting a lot of white makeup on it might be bad... we´ll see. Most important is to get thorugh it without collapsing or getting the migraine back!

    Maybe you don't need the white makeup during rehersal (of course I realize this blog was written over a month ago). I'm excited that you are going to write a book this summer...please send it to as many publishers as it takes. If the books are inspirational you can send it to Hayhouse Publishing, and I have a feeling your books would have to have at least a little inspiration in them. I hope you never have another migraine.

I love that you realize you need to send that book to more than one publisher! Writing a book and getting a book published are two entirely different sets of skills. I wish you all the best!

    I have no suggestions for getting rid of a migraine other than I know time will eventually make it go away.

You will do fine with your performance.

I also think that you hit the nail on the head when you said you could have sent your book to multiple publishers. Resubmit it and see what happens, eventually someone might like it enough to give you a shot.

    hi - i really know what you are going thru. i have suffered migraines since i was 12 yrs old. many days off school in a dark room, could not lift my head, or brush my hair. my mom used to make me camomile tea with gripe water as it was the only thing i could keep down.
years ago i started investigating all the homeopathic remedies and for the last two years i have gone to the headache clinic and a doctor who specializes in migraine.
i have the aura, cluster and temporal. first - a lot of the trouble comes from the neck - for some people chiropractic helps - it did not help me - but i have exercises to do and a special pillow for sleeping.
second - mega doses of VITAMIN D all year around - at least 5000 - 8000 mg daily, minimum 1000 mg VITAMIN C .
third - identify all offending substances, foods and weather that are triggers. if there is any way to avoid all of them - do so. i know the weather can be tricky as it is hard to control our whereabouts.
fourth - calming and relaxing thru yoga, exercise stretches, and music and no forceful movements - will help. only in the initial and ending stages. but when you are in the middle - just rest and keep as still as you can.
fifth vasodialators can help - discuss with your health provider -
sixth - keep a complete and thorough diary - every time may be similar to the last, but you can improve on it if you spot things. (i.e. i stayed up too late, not enough sleep - smelled certain perfumes/cleaners etc)
good luck - i hope some of these suggestions help you if you did not know them, and if you are doing a lot - keep on it -
i have also tried FEVERFEW before a full blown migraine - it did not stop it entirely.

    I hope by now the migraine is behind you. I have heard how fierce they are and am blessed to never have had to deal with one. Have a wonderful weekend.

    Look into B-2 (riboflavin) , feverfew (herb) and magnesium citrate (mineral)
These helped me get rid of my migraine headaches.
