I have to admit, Iíve been having some post-run blues this week. I have been completely focused on the marathon for 3 months. Having such a huge goal kept me focused and on target with my workouts. Now that itís over, Iím feeling a little listless. Iíve taken this week to recover. Iíve been walking every day, and today I finally feel normal again.

That means itís time to start thinking about new goals and summer plans.

When I started talking to other people about the marathon, I kept being asked the same thing. ďWhatís next?Ē At first I thought what do you mean? I just ran a marathon! Iím going to rest!

But, the thing is, I need goals. They keep me focused and give me something to work for. Even though during the race I thought that I would never do another marathon, the next day I was thinking about how to improve for the next one. I know Iíll do another Ė but not for a couple years. I promised Andy ☺

Iím definitely excited to add some variety to my workouts. I want to do a lot more weight training while continuing my running. Iím aiming for 2-3 ST workouts, 2-3 short runs, and a long run / week. With Zumba and my other classes, it will be a lot, but I am so excited to get back into it.

Iím switching up my eating for the summer. I want to eat super clean 90% of the time. Hopefully, this will help me get rid of the rest of the extra weight. I want to be at my goal weight by the fall Ė which reminds meÖ

I want to keep racing. Right now I have 2 races in mind. Theyíre both in the fall, so I have plenty of time to improve my running. One is a short, fun one w/ a zombie theme. Andy and I will be running it together (hopefully with some of our friends), and it is going to be awesome. It looks like so much fun, and I am really excited to run w/ my husband.

The other race is the Leaf Peepers Half, which Iíve heard is a gorgeous run, and they apparently have awesome shirts Ė again, the only reason to do a race, right? Registration for Leaf Peepers opens soon, and I need to make sure I register ASAP. Last year I waited too long. It was a filled in a week.

So, thatís whatís next for now. I also need to finish up studying for my personal trainer certification and take the test. I hope to be certified by the end of the summer. Iím really excited about having some new goals, and I hope to have time to get back to my writing, too. Itís going to be an awesome summer.

    Sounds like you have plenty to focus on! I really wanted to do "Run For Your LIves" (Zombie Run). I just can't justify it financially right now. I hope you have a blast! Fitness + Doing things you LOVE = AWESOME!

    Wow, that's a lot of great healthy goals right there! Even post-marathon, you blow me away with your dedication to exercise and working out and fitness. And here I thought I exercised a lot. :) The races sound fun, and good luck with your personal training certification - NOT that you need luck! You're on fire!
