Well, last night’s ballgame was perhaps the most exciting one yet – and Josh has been playing for years. “We” were the visiting team. The home team scored 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning. We finally scored a run in the top of the second inning, and the score stayed that way for another few innings. Then, in the top of the 6th inning (they only play 6), we scored 7 runs!
But in the bottom of the 6th, the home team scored 6 more runs, due in large part to one of our players getting the ball in the outfield and HOLDING IT instead of throwing it in. I have no idea why he did that – someone said he looked like a deer caught in the headlights – but it allowed a home run (with 2 other players on base). UGH!
So, last night the boys played a 7th inning. One of our players hit a grand slam home run, and we scored 2 more runs for a total of 14 runs. Then, the home team was out 1, 2, 3 in the bottom of the 7th. Whew! Our guys salvaged what could have been disastrous (for us).
Yes, Grandma Nancy gets excited during Josh’s games.
