I just posted this on Rachele's page but thought I'd share because she wasn't the only one who'd asked what I thought about my new BodyMedia Link armband.
I still haven't decided if it's worth it or not. It's a fun toy, absolutely! I'm not sure it's really giving me an edge beyond tracking on Spark, though. I still have to track all my food, it just saves me from tracking exercise (which really isn't that tough to do). It has lots of fun graphs and pictures and real-time updates so I can watch the calories and steps add up. I do like that. But it's up to you whether that's worth $200 plus online software fees of $7 a month once the free trial runs out. It is, however, reconfirming the belief that it's not just calories in and calories out that matter, as I've got deficit coming out the wazoo and no change on the scale.
I finally got a full night's sleep last night. (No blog post last night!) But today's deficit is quite low (anticipated total daily calorie burn 2384 - 2100 consumed = 284 cal), meaning it's actually a gainer/surplus day according to Spark. (I know, I just said I had deficit coming out the wazoo... but not today.)
I also didn't exercise tonight as it was a class-after-work night. I did do the P90X Chest-shoulders-triceps video last night though! And I'll do something tomorrow. Something.... not sure what. What should I do? Maybe a one-woman dance party? It has been a while... or try the DVD that came with my aerobic step? (Yes, I got an aerobic step for my birthday and haven't used it for anything but weights yet.) Hmmm... what are your favourite workouts right now?
