when it rains, it pours....

Thursday, May 31, 2012

I kinda dropped out there for a while. Life has been hectic the past month, so much going on. My son moved home with my parents and has decided that he will be going back to school. My daughter went into labor 7 weeks early and delivered my grandson Christopher Luke the day of the baby shower I threw for her here at my church. Christopher has been in the NICU since, but he is expected to go home tomorrow. My daughter and the "friend" (now her boyfriend) who was driving her around were kicked out of the place they were staying (with his mom) the night after the delivery. They are now staying with my ex and his new wife in a 5 bedroom house, but they will ALL be moving in the very near future to a 3 bedroom trailer. not a great situation. The boyfriend lost his job last night, so there is no money coming in for them either, and they have no car. My dad has been dealing with severe, unexpected dizzy spells. Mom's just trying to keep on going. Christopher's father has been distant and aloof, not totally ignoring everything, but not really making an effort. And I am the one that he, my daughter, and the boyfriend all talk to, so I am the mediator. I hope they will listen to me, but at least they all know that Christopher is my priority and that they all better grow up. Add to this one of my adopted kids is having marital problems and doesn't really have anyone to talk to but me. At least she understands my role is to listen, offer suggestions and pray. Nobody expects me to fix things!

And then my poor little car... the suspension is shot - so much so that the mechanic would not let me drive her home today. I am in a loaner (a Mercedes), but I can't keep that forever. The car will cost about $1000 to fix, and nobody has that sort of cash. So tomorrow I am calling a place that might help me get a new (to me) car. And telling my boss I need more hours, a raise, promotion, whatever!

Anyway, that's life in my little corner for the past 6 or so weeks... how's yours?

Thanks! I have the good book, but no wine! I have, however, potentially have a car to buy. A friend is going to buy a car from one of his friends and then sell it to me on monthly installments. now I have to insure and put a tag on it. IF he gets the car.... But it's a relief on me that I can get something of my own.
