I had totally forgotten about the new goal I set for myself in January! Just goes to show ya. I did not reach it, in fact I gained weight instead. I'm here to start over again (again).
The main thing is I started walking last week. That seems to have turned a corner for me. I'm doing one thing differently this time just to break out of old habits - listening to a book instead of music. At least so far, it's motivating me more than music would. I started with "The Paris Wife" because my book group was reading it. Loved the book and the reader. Now I'm listening to "The Magnificent Ambersons".
I got "The Paris Wife" from Audible - actually, I joined Audible just to get it so I could listen to it in time for my book group. I got "Ambersons" via Overdrive from my library. The Overdrive process was painless enough, but it was hard to find something to listen to! I actually chose "Ambersons" because it was one of only two titles that Overdrive said were "available now". It's a huge book so I'm not surprised no one has checked it out, but I'm finding it delightful. I've seen the movie, but all I remember is Joseph Cotton staring mournfully out a window! Not much to go on. :)
Anyway I'm just blabbering away in the dawn light as I wait for my morning walking time. Any of my SP pals want to say hello, I'd love to hear from any or all of you! Okay, now that I've blogged and logged my food for yesterday, time to own up and update my weight loss timeline. Which means it is ... Dun dun dunnnnnnn ... Time to weigh myself.
Yes, we have a scale at home now. Hubby was diagnosed with pre-diabetes so he's finally paying attention to his calorie intake and weight loss as well as fitness. He is doing fantastic and has been a big motivator for me to get off my duff and get myself back into feeling good about myself again. Never pushy, just there and looking fine, and that makes me want to look fine too.
My big challenges right now:
- Overweight and need motivation to keep at it until I lose the weight again and keep it off this time.
- Stressed out about parental health issues, constantly.
- Changing jobs in a month (more about that later).
