For Some, Exercise May Increase Heart Risk

Thursday, May 31, 2012

Have been wondering about this. I exercise (swimming and aqua aerobics) because I enjoy it and I love being in the water, but contrary to all reports it actually makes my blood sugar WORSE, at least temporarily, because I always get a short-term blood sugar spike when I'm finished. This article is about the possible ill effects of exercise on healthy people, not diabetics, but who knows? Maybe it isn't the best thing to do after all.

I think too much vigorous exercise is too much of a good thing. I do a mix of low and moderate exercise, but rarely very vigorous, or only for short bursts.

I find vigorous exercise raises my blood sugar too. A moderate walk is what I've found best for lowering it.
