Day 88/213

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

Tomorrow I have my first hill run! I'll be running 1 easy mile for a warm up, then running up a 100-150 meter hill as hard as I can, and then walking back down. I'll do that 5 times. Then I'll run an easy half mile to cool off. I think I know where I'm going to do this, but hopefully I don't look too crazy running up and down the street over and over. Or I can do it at the park - there are some steep hills there. But they might be too steep.

Today was productive. I finished cleaning the bathroom by scrubbing out our shower... it was really dirty! I got places that hadn't been cleaned since the previous owners lived here, and it was gross. Then I got dressed and we went to a couple stores. We went to Lowes and bought some deck planks, stain and deck cleaner.

So we cleaned the deck tonight, and Airin replaced a rotten board. And tomorrow we're going to stain and seal it. The color stain we got is a semi-transparent green-tinged brown (it's called avocado).

Then tonight I made crab cakes for dinner, and they were tasty.

I made a promise to stay within my calorie range today, and I'm going to do it! I did eat when I wasn't hungry today - some snacks. But I did not go out to eat, or do any social eating, and that helped.

Oh, and some excellent news today! My friend who interviewed at my college that I had been fretting for accepted a job at a great school today! I'm so happy for him, and so relieved for him. I'm still disappointed, because he was ready to roll, and a great guy, and a lot of fun... but hopefully the person we did hire is also cool, albeit far less experienced.

I got the recipe from Type Maryland Crab Cakes in the search box, and it's the first recipe. I use reduced fat/cal mayonnaise. And imitation crab, too!
