Yesterday I splurged a little and bought a new pair of running shoes in preparation for my first 5k in July. Before I was just using the old pair of sneakers I had always worked out in (I think they're walking shoes), and the difference in my run today was ENORMOUS. My feet have never been happier during a run. And the training today was great, not to mention the fact that this is probably the most beautiful day yet in Portland this year!
I'm looking forward to going back to the gym tonight after work to do some more cross-training and strength workouts. I've been laying off the weights a little bit lately so getting back into that will be great.
Aside from my fitness stuff, I'm also starting an internship with Planned Parenthood next week to work as an advocate for women's reproductive rights during the upcoming election! I'm super excited to do some advocacy work with a non-profit, as my usual activities are mostly fundraising-based.
