OH what fun!

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

Wow! What a crazy 6 or so days! All the kids, all the grandkids on some of the days, lighter on others. Lots of swimming, horseback riding, swinging on the front porch. Lots of homemade Greek yogurt/strawberry/banana smoothies also, by request!

I ate pretty well, most of the time. I did have a few guilt-free otherwise guilty pleasures. I just decided not to stress over it. No tracking to speak of and I didnt track my activity either and activity stayed right up there. This morning, I spent about an hour with one last ride for everyone, Nana walking the horse over the hiking trail, several times. So I did keep very active.

So this morning, after everyone left, I think it kind of caught up with me. I was extra hungry and seemed to be most of the day. So I just tracked my calories and macros and geesh..... Okay so rather than stress, and since I was needing to do this anyways, I am just going to chalk it up to a calorie/carb refeed and move on.

Eating a few walnuts when I am hungry too soon always helps hold my hunger.
Just a thought...

Having the kids around is a great joy, but it does catch up sometimes. I get really tired for the week afterward. I will need to catch up on my sleep and get myself back out of "alert" mode. I usually sleep with one eye open when they are here. Ha Ha Ha. I know you are enjoying their visit. That's great!!!

Sounds wonderful - Enjoy that Nana time while they still want to be around you! You know that they only want until a certain age.
a few guilty pleasures from time to time is OK - as long as we regroup and get back right. - which you sound like you are.
Keep up the fabulous work

Our overall health is determined not by what we eat one week out of the year, but by what we eat the other 51 weeks.

Sounds like you allowed yourself to have a great time.

No worries - you no what works for you and how to get back on plan.

Sounds like a wonderful time was had by all. I'm just starting to get back into riding on most days and soon swimming will follow. I can't wait.
Good for you not to worry about the little things (like calories) when you can have so much fun. emoticon emoticon

it is D-stress time - we definitely need to elimiate that word from our vocabulary and not let food choices create stress. Remember - we just look forward, not back and move positively. Each step is a new start.
So I am wishing I could have been there too - horses and trails certainly sound inviting.
So excited that your weekend was so wonderful
