Feeling less anxious and a lot more confident!

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

So it's been three days since I started my internship and I have to say I'm really loving it so far!! After the first day, my head was spinning with all the information and new things to learn and my anxiety levels were through the roof, but now I already feel like I'm getting the hang of it and I really love meeting new people and learning new things!

My co-workers are so sweet and nice, and I feel like I've been a part of that group for a long time instead of just three days. Today I felt relaxed and confident, and my anxiety seemed to have disappeared! I have been doing a lot more yoga and relaxation exercises/meditation now that I started work because I know it usually helps relieve the anxiety - and it's really working this time.

This is a big step for me. I'm forcing myself outside of my comfort zone and challenging myself to evolve and turn into a stronger, more confident version of myself! My life used to be controlled by anxiety and always feeling like I wasn't good enough, but things are changing. I feel stronger and my self-confidence is on a whole new level! I know I still have a long way to go but I'm getting there. One step at a time.

So that's my quick little update. Things are going well; I've been staying within my calorie range and working out a lot this week. My new job is going well and I love it (despite the fact that my poor little feet are sooooo sore after a long day of staying on my feet all the time) and I have a feeling this next month is going to teach me a lot about myself and about the hotel industry as well.

I hope everyone else is having a good week!! :) Thank you guys for always being there for me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

So glad you're loving the new job!! I have an anxiety disorder that gets worse during stressful times, I'll even have panic attacks. But I found what helps is to egg my anxiety on and stare it in the face. It is just a feeling, it cannot hurt me. And every time I do something and tell my anxiety to "shove it!" I feel stronger and stronger.

You are doing great!

    Congratulations on your job!

I have a lot of anxiety myself and I have noticed that the more I do towards making myself feel better, the more that kind of nervous energy melts away.. be Proud of yourself because it is a tough mindset to shake!!

You are becoming a stronger person every day you handle the day's stress and anxiety. This is another step toward continuing to build self-confidence that you can do whatever you want to do -- including reaching your weight loss goal. You're doing great, Annie. emoticon -- Lou

Glad to hear that the job is working out. The great thing about stepping out of your comfort zone is that it starts a chain reaction which spurs you on to learn and try more new things.

If you are going to be on your feet a lot I would recommend not only a comfortable pair of shoes but also a pair of good support stockings. They have some that are very sheer and look like regular pantyhose. They will save you from developing those awful spider veins.

God bless
