My lab work yesterday showed my hemoglobin actually went up very slightly from last week; from 8.8 to 8.9; still low enough to make me tired, but not so low that I require a blood transfusion. I've had to have a transfusion once a month every month since December, and this is the first time since then I've been able to to make it through month without one!
My WBC came up too, to 5.1; that is within normal range, something that doesn't happen very often, that is great news because it means I'm not so vulnerable to catching a cold or an infection. I am still careful about germs though, because I know that number will start go down again when I have chemo next week.
At the pain clinic, I had injections for both hips, lower back, and left shoulder. Feeling better on the right side and in the left shoulder, but the left hip and knee are hurting pretty bad today. That doesn't mean the injection there didn't work; sometimes they cause an increase in pain for a few days before it starts to get better.
I was feeling very tired from the sedatives when I got home around 3pm. I just settled into the recliner, doing some reading and watching tv then going to bed at 10pm.
I did my Sit and Be Fit workout this afternoon. The last part of the workout is always leg work and stretching, which you can do standing or sitting. I usually do that part standing, but today I stayed seated. With as much pain as I am having in my left hip and leg, I thought it was better to keep the weight off from it. I've been trying to stay off my feet as much as possible today.
It's much cooler today, and we've had a few sprinkles of rain. We have a chance of frost tonight. I got some old sheets out of a plastic tote I keep in the shed for the purpose of covering plants, and I will cover up my hanging baskets and trays of flowers for the cemetery before it gets dark tonight. I think I'll have to be turning the heat on before I go to bed tonight too.
