Ah-ha! I do have abs! ...and they HURT!!

So, I started a new workout routine yesterday. I found it on pinterest. It's from Prevention magazine and was the "readers digest" version of a book called the 2-week Turnaround. It's got two sets of strength moves that you alternate between (A: chest, back, abs and B: legs, arms, butt) and two different treadmill workouts (A: the speed ladder which is basically an interval workout, and B: ...I forget what they call it, but it's 5 min warm up, 20 minutes at the same speed, 5 min cool down).

You do strength moves A with the interval workout and then strength moves B with the other. And you go for 6 days, take a rest day, go for 4 days, take a rest day, then finish with 2 days. In 14 days, the average tester lost 6 pounds and a bunch of inches with some people losing 12 pounds and 22 inches! So, I figured I'd give it a go. It's only two weeks. And I can do anything for two weeks. :)

So, today, my whole middle hurts!! My abs and my arm pits (i guess technically the muscles in my arm pits...) are screaming every time I move. BUT, I guess that means I worked them hard. Probably should have stretched more. Now I know and will do better today.

I'm also really proud of how much protein I ended up with yesterday without really trying very hard. And I clocked in at under 1400 calories. Huzzah! Mini-meals for the win!

Ok, got an allergist appointment in about an hour. Better go get ready.

    LOL those muscles in your arm pits are probably your pecs, you silly thing.

    I like the sound of this program, but don't get wrapped up in the numbers, okay? Promise me you won't go expecting to lose twelve pounds and 22 inches in two weeks. You don't know what that person was eating (or not eating!) during those two weeks. No matter what you're doing during, it's still two weeks. Rock it, own it, be proud of pushing yourself for two straight weeks, and forget the numbers, okay? The last thing I want you to do is rock out this amazing workout program and be totally consistent and then feel disappointed when you should be super shiny and proud as can be.

    HOORAY for being back (I missed you! I missed you! I missed you!) and HOORAY for settling into a good routine!

    HUGS, take care of those abs (there's really nothing you can do while they sort themselves out - gentle movement is good!) and I'll see you tomorrow! emoticon

    Yes that is a sign you are working the muscles. Just be careful not to over do it!
