Inventions which make life easier!

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

We had huge thunder storms a night ago---
I wrapped Coal, the big German (as in dogs)-in his "Thunder shirt", early in the evening-- He stuck pretty close to me while the lightning cracked and the thunder crashed, but---(Now get this!)---he didn't try to climb under the TV--nor did he try to get on our bed, panting---
I did not have to get up in the night with him, and lie on the bathroom floor , with the fan on, so he couldn't hear the weather outside.
Grant it, he did sleep RIGHT beside me, on the floor----

These shirts really are amazing!
They are stretchy--- You wrap the dog very snuggly------his chest----
It says the shirt will calm him--and it seems to.
I highly recommend them!

Yesterday husband and I cut grass--well, he cut --I weed whacked----
That is another great invention!
I am the ""Weed Whack"" Queen---but----(Isn't there always a ""but""?)-----we live on a gravel pit--many rocks---so my weed whackers never last very long--
Son #4, the City Worker, always has told me to buy a "'Stil"" weed whacker--I finally bought one----and it is no more expensive than all the others--but---has way more safety features--is an easy start--and I'm a-lovin' it!

So--right now-a gal must get out to my ""solar dryer""--(my clothes line!)---not a new invention but a power saver---
Have a great day Sparklers!
Choices----portions----exerc
ise------will keep us alive!

the docks are out--so--when y'all coming up here?

Crock pot! Couldn't live without it.

I'll have to look into the thunder shirt for Mr. Spot, too as he is just a wreck during storms.

Coal and Tess look like they're deciding whose going to jump in the water first! Cute picture.

Did your son the pilot tell you about the Air Canada plane that had an emergency landing because the engine failed? I was thinking of you and praying he's alright!

Have a great day, my dear!

I have never heard of thunder shirts but will look into them. Our Miss Macki hates thunder.

Take care and have a GREAT day.

BTW - I love the smell of clothes dried in the solar dryer....

I wish i had had a Thunder shirt for one of our German shepherds. He was terrified of storms. Also a neighbors dog would come to our door day or night if a storm was coming so she could hide indoors with us!
Oh the peaceful feeling I get from your dock pictures.Enjoy.

I use my solar dryer all summer! Can't beat it! Extra steps out and back, bending. I also move and stack firewood we use for heat in the winter! Lots of extra moving there!
