Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Sneezy, Happy, Grumpy.........Sleep

Hello SP!

My favorite cartoon character of all time is Grumpy. I have a lot of Grumpy t-shirts, stuffed toys, keychains.....etc. I think he just needs a good hug, a bowl of ice cream or one of the many Happy Pills that are prevalent in our society! I have always thought of him as just misunderstood, even my license plate says Grumpy.
But I digress.......the purpose of this post is my commitment to try to get more SLEEP. So I feel I should be more in touch with Sleepy's character. I work the Midnight shift, 10:45p to 06:45a and I am almost never fully rested. Most if not all of the people who work with me, on my shift are in constant need of sleep. The world is not kind to those of us nocturnal creatures who need peace and quiet during daylight hours. We feel like we should be able to "do it all". Consequently, we let sleep be the "what gives?" in our lives. Since I have started my SP journey, I am getting even less sleep. I am trying to fit my C25k training into the day as well as all of the other responsibilties and obligations. I am making a public declaration right now............ I vow to TRY to get more sleep. I know it will make me less Grumpy AND Dopey........ha!

More Power To Ya!

I can identify with Grumpy and Sleepy. I don't work the night shift but I do wake up several times every night and never really feel rested.

My dad used to work shifts and I remember mom trying to keep up quiet during the day when he was trying to sleep. It must really be tough to try to sleep while the 'rest of the world' is making noise.

Sorry to learn that you're working the night shift. No wonder you're having some trouble getting enough rest. I found a web address that may help. Just copy and paste the full link into your browsers address bar for some sleep tips for night shift workers.

Have you ever seen Once Upon A Time? It was a new program this year, a retelling of fairy tales, and they explained Grumpy so well...
