Getting back to the Blogosphere

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Since I am finally back home, I am going to get back to my daily blogging. While I may not always have much to say, I like being able to keep in touch. Plus, I like going back and reading my blogs....

Today saw me get really back to the job search. I have to say, the great thing about being a cook is that there is no shortage of jobs. EVER! People will always want to eat out. I applied to three this afternoon...and within an hour I had an interview set up at one of them for Thursday afternoon. It's for a part-time line cook at a nearby pub.

I have been really good about doing my physio exercises and I'm seeing a HUGE improvement in the appearance of my foot/leg. The range of motion is incredible and the circulation issues seem to have disappeared. Walking is now completely pain free and I am feeling really balanced. No weird weight distribution going on.

Tomorrow I have to go to Audrey's and pick up a check. While there, I will stop and get my running shoes from Grandma's. I'm thinking of jogging home. It will only be a 1k or so...but I think that's a really great distance to see how my leg holds up. I really miss running. I want to get back out there.

Tomorrow morning I will also hop on the scale. I know that I have gained 10 pounds or so since January...not being able to exercise for 2 months really hurt me. And I know my eating wasn't great during that time...I ate a lot of convenience foods because I couldn't stand for long periods of time. So tomorrow I will get a new starting weight, reset all my tickers, plans, goals, etc. And then I will get cracking on them. :)

I'm so glad to be back.

Holidays and injuries are hard. I need my routine and when it is gone my weight is usually the first thing to change. Sometimes changing your ticker is the best thing. I usually have a rule that if my weight stays the same for 3 days in row then the ticker changes. This time my weight seemed to fluctuate and I decided to stay away from the scale until I felt I was back to a normal routine. I found myself three pounds over. However spring is good for me. I took on a dandelion challenge to work at the front yard a half hour (one bucket) at least a day. Today I am back to the ticker weight so hurray I am celebrating the three pounds. Since you have been away from exercise for a while I think changing you ticker makes sense. You know what to do, so welcome back to the journey. I hope your run is successful. Justyna

Welcome back!! I hope the scale didn't change too much, but if so I know you have all the tools to get where you want to be! Don't push yourself too much with the run home. We don't need you injured again!

Good luck with the job hunt! Sounds like you are in high demand. : )

Sounds like everything is on the rise for you, and that's a good thing!
