Memorial Day and Other Ramblings

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!!!! We decided to get away and enjoy a weekend at the beach. There is just something about the salty air that relaxes you and does you good!!! I love spending time on the beach with my kids!!! It never gets old and it's one of my favorite family activities!!!

I am loving using Instagram!!! It's a fun way to spruce up your pictures.

So while we were away my eating wasn't great but we did walk a lot. Up and down the boardwalk many times a day. And one day we even rented a surry which we peddled up and down a couple times.

We came home yesterday and I started drinking my water right away. I felt dehydrated. I also started eating healthy right away. Just tried to wash all the bad stuff away.

Today it's been a whole week since I ran. Mostly because I had a migraine the whole week. It was one of the worst string of migraines I've had in a long time. Tuesday is my running day with friends of mine, and when the asked if I was up for a run I declined because I still felt a lot of pressure in my head and it was SUPER hot and SUPER humid out!!!! I just didn't think it was a good idea. Instead I met up with my mom and caught up with her.

Later on I came home and felt I just HAD to run...even if it was on the DREADMILL who I call MILLY. She and I are not the best of friends. Well...as hot as it was even in the house I endured 40 minutes. I felt so much better!!!! I really felt I had accomplished something GOOD for myself today!!!!

I don't know why...I have been running now almost two years this summer...but every time I run I still have a voice of uncertainty in my head. I have completed many 5K's, a 5 miler, a 10 miler, and a 1/2 marathon. Yet STILL I question my ability to get it done. Not running a week shook my confidence again...and doing it today yet I proved to myself I CAN DO IT!!!!! I can do so much more!!!!

I was so sweaty after today's HOT SWEATY run I had to take a pic...again instagramed..


I am on track, yes I can!!!!!!!!!

Sorry so long...it's been a while since I blogged last!!!!

Love the pictures. Glad you all had such a good time. I love walking on the boardwalk in OC. I want to go so badly!! Love the pictures. Your kids are getting so big. Especially Zach...he looks very tall!?

Glad you did the run with Milly yesterday. I'm proud of you for that!! You're a running machine, don't let your mind tell you anything else!!

    So glad you got to spend some great quality time with the family at the beach!!! I hope that the change back to healthy eating and your 40 minutes with Milly will kick that migrane streak to the curb for GOOD!!!     Sorry about the migraines... I know how that can be. It is so frustrating when something medical gets in the way of your workout progress!!! But, as my own Doctor said to me yesterday, "You'll get back to where you were... You just can't exercise for a week... " (My asthma has been crazy with this weather!)
You did it! You will keep doing it! It takes more than a week to destroy your years of hard work and dedication!!!!

    Sorry to hear you had a bad week with migraines. I hope they stay away now! Your holiday sounds and looks like it was lots of fun. Good on you for running when you can - woo hoo!
