Getting Back on Track

The last couple weeks, I have taken a couple steps back with my progress. I put back on a couple pounds that I had lost, and was not so diligent with eating healthy, working out, and tracking. Since we just recently got home, we have had lots of people to visit. That has resulted in a few more drink, and not the best food choices.
The backstep has made me re-assess my goals. I realized that part of the problem is my goal was to broad. It was just a number and a date. That is still in place, but I needed to put a plan behind the goal for it to mean anything. So that is exactly what I have done!
Yesterday I started the couch to 5k program. I will do this 3 days a week (Mon, Weds, Fri). The in between days, I will be going to the gym to use stationary bikes, elliptical, or swimming for variety. As well as that, I am incorporating more strength training into my routine. I'm also going to try Zumba for the first time with a friend next week. I'm excited for that!
I have started a journal that is small and fits in my purse, so even if I do not have computer access I can still track all my calories. During the week at work, I find it pretty easy. It is the weekend when I miss days. I will track and write down everything including drinks which tend to add up quickly.
I'm glad I caught myself slacking before sliding any further. I'm a little sore today after yesterdays workout, but I feel great! I'm off to the gym in an hour!
