Took a week off....

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Well, I ran a 5K on Saturday, May 19th and the following week was hectic to say the least!! Monday was field day at the school and if you have ever experienced a middle school field day you know what I'm talking about!! I was at the water/first aid station. I poured up over 30 gallons of water for the students and transported 3 students to the clinic for minor injuries. It was HOT too!!

Tuesday was awards day and we do things right at the middle school I work at...we more of a production than an awards assembly...We have tons of fun! We showcase students in our school that have special talents and showcase our exceptional children. (That always makes me cry!) Also, there are a few of us teachers that are in a "rock" band! I am the bass player and we do the song, "What I like about you!" and we have changed the lyrics to middle school lyrics. For example, "What I like about you, you don't know how to dance, you just stand in the corner and dream about true romance..." That took up all of Tuesday with two seperate assemblies.

Wednesday was a half day with exams and it was the last day of school. Shew!!! I didn't know if I was going to make it through this school year!!!

Thursday was a required teacher workday....I feel like I walked 5 miles from one end to the school and back!!! It was CRAZY!

Friday was my first "full-time" day at the park for the summer season and it was mowing day!! This means a weedeater in my hand for 2 hours!!!! Shew! Worked my tail off!!!

I did however have the weekend off. Which was nice. I didn't workout at all last week and my punk outfit for the band included 4" high heeled shoes which hurt my left foot (which I'm still suffering from a week later!!!)

With the week off from working out I still lost 1 lb!!!!! So excited!!! I had plateaued for so long and in the last 3 weeks I have lost almost 5 lbs!!! I'm back at it this week though....I ran 2 miles last night and I will run again tonight. emoticon

WOW! I had forgotten what the last days of school for middle school were like! Hectic to say the least. I have to say that I don't miss that part of middle school at all. (Taught 6th grade for 10 years.)

I took my pedometer on the last working day yesterday, I walked over 5 miles! I bet you truly did as well!

    Have fun this summer! emoticon
