After a weekend of making really bad decisions and letting my id (a.k.a. the seether - yes, after the song) have too much control, I'm focusing on the things I did right and the new habits I've formed since embarking on this journey a year and a half ago...
1) I still ate fruits & veggies despite being off plan!
2) I had several meals that were strictly by the guidelines so that the ones that weren't didn't have as much of an impact.
3) When we took my DD for ice cream I ordered a small rather than the large I would have ordered in the past (and after seeing the small realized I'd have been happy with a mini).
4) Bought a Big Grab bag of chips (the ones that have 3 servings) and shared it between 3 people! Although I'm sure DD had less than a full serving & I had more, it's still a lot less than the whole bag!
Do I have things I still need to work on? Obviously. But it's identifying the fact that new habits are taking hold that helps motivate me to idenify the things that need work and change them, knowing that eventually they'll be a new habit too!
