update and farewell to May

For the last 3 months, I looked forward to May because yesterday was supposed to be my 5k run. It came and went, and I had to miss the run due to a large family camping trip. I'm disappointed that I missed it, but I think it worked out for the best since I wasn't all that prepared for it. Last week my 2 yr old had fever and was miserable for 3 days straight so no exercise for me, entire weekend was out and with husband and his family.

Since my last run in February, my diet and exercise has slowly gone down hill and is currently at rock bottom..319 mins all month has been the lowest for me in a while. I feel like crap and I'm depressed every other day and I think lack of exercise is the reason.

Regarding the sisterinlaw sistuation, I'm slowly getting over it. We texted one day about a week ago and planned to fix a lunch date.

I have a wedding to go to on July 7th in NY so I have a lot to work on in June. My husband, believe it or not, is in the 2rd week of his running program and doing really well with it. He's actually loving it. We still can't run together, but I have him to talk about running and eating right. He's actually doing much better than I'm currently doing which is sooo not right, so I have to fix that lol

Hope everyone is doing way better than I am. My favorite sparkfriends continue to inspire me on a daily basis and as much as I wish could be just like them, I can't due to kids, work, scheduling issues, but in the mean time I will just get some exercise in. :-D

    Glad you're having lunch with SIL..hope you guys can find a way to stay in touch without too much stress! On the diet and exercise front..I've noticed that my diet goes into the trash bin if I don't exercise..exercise gives me structure for everything. I think you should dust yourself off and even start doing 20 minutes a day of a sparkpeople video at home. It could change your mindset completely! Here's to all of us having a *fabulous* June :). emoticon

    Look. I don't know if spark tracks this but it should include a measurement for "baby-managing"...thats definitely a workout on its own and add in a sick baby and it should be like double! ;)
I'd take camping over a 5k any day and 5k's come all the time. You should be able to sign up again soon and this time you'll have more time to get prepared. Sorry if you've said this before and I just forgot but do u guys have a treadmill or elliptical at home? Seems like with your work/home schedule..u would benefit. Even if its just for 5 mins a day. Have fun with SIL at the lunch thats being planned. Nice to hear that you guys are trying to make it work despite the circumstances. Good luck. Wishing u the best!

    Everything will work out---and you'll get to run with Hubby soon---since he seems to be on the way to becoming a regular Runner!!!The Weather---specially Heat affects all of us pretty badly-----the hotter it gets the more listless and drained you feel.In my case my Sugar despite my regular Diet begins to fluctuate---needing constant Insulin monitoring---so don't worry if you feel listless---blame it totally on the Weather!!!Besides Housework is a much neglected source of great Excercise---find out how much Energy you use while doing it!!!Also I'm glad your connection with your SIL is improving---I'm sure you'll remain great Friends!!!Take Care and God Bless!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Dont worry about what happened..get up and go..thats what it is all about...And I know u will do it..I havent run my 10k yet but I am good..Its too hot for me..Might run one in mid august or so when it cools down..hehehe...

Take care and awesome that ur husband is getting there..Men always respond to any lifestyle changes better than us...I had read this article where it says we should workout and change our diet and it succeeds when we think like how guys do...its so true...:)
