We had another busy day ... we rode (I was up on another of my DS's wonderful 1/4 horses) later than planned because a neighbour dropped by to visit so it was HOT - approximately 90F. My comfort level wasn't helped by the fact that I was wearing a crash vest and helmet ... necessary safety equipment no matter the discomfort. I did remember to drink water before, during and after so I didn't get dehydrated - but was I sopping wet by the time I finished!
In the afternoon we visited a tack store and stopped at Lake Erie on the way back. The wind off the lake was lovely and cool; we went for a long walk along the shoreline and that revived us a bit.
I do have pictures of today's ride but I'll put them up tomorrow; I'm too tired right now.
Oh yeah - something special about this trip ... today was my DS's birthday, the first one we've spent together in over 40 years. We made her a nice dinner and a 'scratch' black forest cake (her favourite).
I have decided to stay an extra couple days - going home Friday instead of Wednesday. I'm having so much fun and learning so much that I decided to extend the visit.
I'll post pics tomorrow ... right now I'm off to bed ... thankful for AC.
