Could there be a more dangerous place for me?
I love festival foods - funnel cake, fried everything, soooo good.

Before we left to head to the festival I decided to take a big bottle of water and a safe snack. Still I couldn't resist getting something. We found a booth that sold chicken on a stick. They grilled it and served it with lo mein. I asked my husband if he would split the chicken with me, but told him he could have all the lo mein. So that's what he did. I only ate one and a half pieces of grilled chicken thighs (no skin). Woo Hoo! Still had a treat and stayed with my resolve.

Just as I was starting to feel really good about myself, I dropped a napkin and bent over to pick it up, only to hear a rrrrriiiip!
It was my shorts - I ripped my shorts out - AT the festival. I could have died.

Fortunately, they ripped in a place that I could hide with my shirt, but we did leave pretty quickly. Good news is that I stopped at Kohls and picked up another pair on the way home.
Still so frustrated at the size I had to buy, but I am determined not to ever have to buy this size again.

Onward we go...

Avoiding the temptation of calorie laden foods when out is so hard, I'm really impressed that you came up with such a positive solution. And as for the shorts, gah, sometimes it's just the way they're made. I feel your embarrassment though, it happened to me once with a pair of trousers at work, and I wasn't overweight at the time, still a mortifying experience, but funnier with a distance of years. And just keep focussing on the smaller size shorts :-). You can get there.
