Let's see - this was the week of food events, and I simply was unable to restrain myself. It started last Saturday with our guild pot-luck. Then, Thursday we had an all hands meeting at work, followed by an ice cream and pizza social. Yesterday, I went to a friend's where there were lots of chips and ribs, and today I just didn't even bother to track (and ate way too much, too).
On the plus side, I kept up with my morning exercise, and even got some extra walking in, though my total mileage this week will be less than last week's I'm sure. I even ignored the fact that today was a holiday, and got up early to go to the gym and do my regular workout.
My back is definitely improving slowly. This evening, I walked over 2 miles on pavement, averaging 3.2 mph, with NO pain! I wasn't trying to go that fast, it just happened. I guess I'll just have to accept that my body will have day-to-day fluctuations. Walks like tonight's give me hope, though, that I WILL be able to walk that quickly on a regular basis at some point in the future. I'm not going to let this one time trick me into messing with my routine, though. I'm currently maxing out at 2.1 mph in my morning workouts, and I think it needs to stay there for a bit before I increase it.
