Speed Dating Craziness!

Monday, May 28, 2012

So I signed up for the Sci-Fi Speed Dating at the local ComiCon. Unusual, to say the least! I've only ever seen speed dating on TV/in movies, so I only had a rough idea of what to expect. It wasn't very well attended, but it was the first year that the Con offered it. Total, there were 3 girls--myself, my friend, and another girl that we knew from school, and 5 guys--one of whom was a friend of my friend! It seemed to go off fairly well, and I was feeling cute in the outfit I'd selected. Apparently I picked well, because the guy that I went out with yesterday said that all the guys thought I looked good. That was really nice to hear--I'm used to being the fat chick in the corner, being ignored. To be considered attractive and desirable... emoticon

So now I'm trying to get ahold of one of the guys that really caught my eye. Another guy had emailed me the night of the Con, and he and I went out yesterday. He seems nice, but I'd like a chance to explore my options a bit. That's what speed dating is all about, right?

It was great to have such a reaffirmation of my efforts. Hopefully I can keep that in mind and keep moving forward on this journey of mine!

Woo Hoo! Congrats on the positive feedback. I've been hesitant to try speed dating or even the on-line dating sites, but maybe, just maybe, I'll give it a try one day.
