Challenge day #8 & setting goals/rewards...

Week #1 down and on to week #2. Today was day #8. This week we start the daily workouts over again. Here is todays video...

This is a 10 minute workout cardio.

I'm not sure but I think, doing it again today, it was just a smidge easier than it was last week. The scissor kicks still seemed next to impossible to me but that could be because I am just not that coordinated. I felt like a baboon trying to perform swan lake.

That is okay though! I kept moving! I felt that heart rate rise. I felt the sweat come. I did it, even if it was far from graceful, and that is all that matters.

Alright.... what's next? I have already started a motivation board. is great for that by the way!!!... Here is my motivation board if you are p-interested...

I have decided that I need to set myself some goals. Mini goals on my way to the bigger picture. I also think I need to figure out some rewards. I'm just unsure on how to go about doing that. I have had a few people tell me not to base it on weight but then on what?

I know I would like to reward myself with a haircut. Eventually some new clothes when the ones I own already are impossible to wear. I want a tattoo...

one similar to this to be exact...

Just a little smaller and somewhere within it saying "Risen from the ashes, I am the hero of this story". But I don't want that until I am at or very very close to my end goal.

So help? How did you set your goals? Give yourself rewards? I need ideas and inspiration! Thanks!

    P.S. I LOVE your motivation board, I think some of your pins will be finding their way over to my motivation board. emoticon

I also have a board called "Things I look forward to when I lose weight" and I love the idea of finding things to pin there. I haven't been too into pinterest lately, I go in spurts.

    When I reach goal weight, I plan on getting a tattoo. I think I want it on my left ankle and in memory of my brother. I'm not sure what to get yet, I figure it will come to me when the time is right. I want it to be about healing and something that reminds me of him but not one the screams "memorial" lol. If that makes sense.

I have mini-goals I set for the year, some are weight based and some are not. I've accomplished a few. Some of my rewards have been a new book, a haircut, nails, clothes, a treadmill or new elliptical at a bigger goal...that's all I can think of now.

I can't find my blog of goals on SP, but here it is on my regular blog. Which is mostly the same as my SP

    Something that I use for smaller rewards/mini goal rewards are regular things that I want and would normally just get myself without thinking about. An example would be a new iPhone case. Normally, I would just go out and get one cuz I want it, but now I wait until I reach a mini goal. Bigger rewards for every 50 lbs or being under a large number like 300 lbs would be good. I myself JUST decided that my two big rewards will be a tattoo and trip to Hawaii. Oooh. I think somewhere in the middle (maybe Onederland), I'll do a new hairstyle.

Personally, I hate when people say things like pedicure, new outfit or music. I get a pedicure once a month, anyway -- not as a reward, but as a part of my grooming. I'm always getting new music because I LOVE music and it helps with my workout playlist. And I have a ton of new clothes that are too small packed away. Those aren't realistic rewards for me personally, but they might work for others.

I hear people recommend workout gear sometimes -- I like the idea of rewarding myself with the workouts. I'm too big, clumsy and awkward to take classes that I REALLY want to like: kettlebells, boxing, zumba and swimming. I'm excited about rewarding myself with those!!!!

    I love your motivations, they're great! One really stuck out to me that applies to this blog: Just do it. Even if you suck.
I love that you kept going, even if you did feel like a baboon trying to do swan lake. :D I feel that way a lot at the gym! What matters is that we keep going, baboon feeling or no.

As far as rewards, I'm still working on that. I like the haircut idea. I never, ever use food, even if it's healthy, that's just a dangerous road. I also like manis, or a new (small) clothing item even if it's not because I've gone down a size. Like, new undies, or a new sports bra or running shoes. Just keep trying things out, you'll figure out what works for you eventually.
