Happy Memorial Day!

Some weight-loss related updates...

Weigh-in this morning has me at 165.4lbs!
This means I am .4lbs away from losing a total of 70lbs, 35 of which have been with SP!
I am also 15lbs away from my goal weight of 150.
My 'maintaining' goal numbers will be 5lb difference from 150, so I don't want my numbers to be above 155 and if I do get to 145, great, but my goal is to be 150.
I already reached my jean-size goal (size 10). I don't know how much smaller my hips are going to get, but maybe I'll hit size 8.... Crazy!

With my body getting healthier, my workouts are having to be harder or longer in order to get my HR up. Some of you may have seen my status yesterday about trying to find the motivation to do something other than walking in the heat we had. Walking alone does NOT get my HR up anymore. I have to do intervals of walk/run in order to get it up. Sure I still count my long walks (1mi or more) on my cardio counter, but really it is not enough for me. It's been quite warm here the last few days, but I have still managed to get in some decent cardio, it is just harder when it is so hot and we're in a 3rd floor apt.

We also ordered two new workout games - the same ones I got my dad, Karl1266, for Christmas this past year : Your Shape and NFL Training. I am really looking forward to incorporating these into my workout routine - I am definitely in need of something different. Running is always a challenge for me, and by that I mean I can run as part of my workout plan for several months, as I have been, and still be able to find ways to challenge myself.

See, as most of us know, it is important to change up our routines every few weeks or so in order to prevent our muscles from getting used to a certain routine, and therefore our body isn't working as hard as it was when we first started that routine. But running, no matter how long I incorporate it into my routine (it's been a part of my routine now since March, about 2-3x/week), can always push me. I can increase how long I run vs how long I walk, I can go for a further distance, etc. etc.

My routine consists of 4-5 days of running/walking, 2-3 days of dancing, and then 1-3 days of cardio/strength circuits.
I will be adding in the new games, probably one day a week for each one for now. It's summer, so I can do a lot more outside :)

Hope as you're there longer, you find ways to adapt to the heat and still get some heart-raising activity in.

Congratulations on your awesome weight loss numbers!!!!

15 lbs to goal -- you are so close!! You should definitely be down a pants size
after 15 lbs, maybe even 2. *B*E*L*I*E*V*E* !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It *IS* possible. I had wide hips too and as the weight came off, so did the hips!!

You are so correct about the importance of having intensity and variety!!
I think it is awesome that you ordered those 2 games! You can challenge yourself, and your Dad with your scores!

    Nice plan of action. Glad you are acclimating well down there. Can't wait to see how you respond to both of those games. I remember well my first session with Jenny! Even blogged about it if I remember correctly. Good luck with your new routine! You're doing great!
