My world just turned upside down.

Monday, May 28, 2012

I was barely back to work and they fired me. I know it is because of my age but it's really hard to prove and since Missouri is a state where they can fire you for nothing I really have no way of fighting the termination. Financially I'm okay for the moment as I was smart enough to put a little aside in savings and I do have some 401 money but I feel kind of lost. I mean I was in the job for almost 14 years and even though I didn't love it it was a part of my identity. Now I can't seem to find anything to occupy my time. Another problem is that I don't drive so I am pretty much house bound. The only good thing to come out of this is that I'm less stressed and don't really have the urge to snack. Maybe I will finally be able to lose the weight and I'll be in better shape by the time I find another job.

I'm sorry you're having to go through this. You are not alone!!!

Remember the saying ... "When one door closes, another door opens." Usually, it ends up being something even better. I wish this for you!!

I am so sorry. Too many people are getting laid off their jobs these days. Do get some rest and enjoy your time off before you find another job and get back to work. emoticon

Sorry to hear about your job loss. Things do happen for a reason though and perhaps this signifies a chance for you to shine in a whole new direction!
Best wishes for a successful job hunt!

That was a crappy unprofessional way for them to let you go without reason. I would never have done that with any of my employees when I was working.

But, I'm a firm believer in the old saying that "Everything Happens for a reason". Perhaps something better will come along, something that will give you satisfaction and productivity.

Already you're finding good things. Less stress and less urge to snack, that's something in itself. Good luck to you.

That is bad news, but every door that closes another one opens up.
Don't give up, if your seek ,you shell find.
I find it hard to believe one can be fired without any reason. I though those days were behind us. I though people had rights. Guess I am living in another society , that some states don't recognize.
Stay strong, stay positive.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you! As everyone else have said though; maybe this is the universe's way of clearing the way for something much more enjoyable and more YOU.

I am so sorry to hear about your job loss. That is so very hard to take. Just hang in there. The good thing is that it doesn't sound like it was your favorite job and added stress. This may be a blessing in disguise. Think positive, something better is just around the corner!

That really stinks that you were let go that way. I'm sorry about that. :(

However, they do say when one door closes, another one opens. I'm sure after the shock, you'll be able to recover and find a path that suits the CURRENT you a lot better than the you 14 years ago.
