This may turn out to be another fizzled attempt, but here goes.
If I remember correctly, my sister was the one who first suggested that I watch Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead on Netflix, which we both have. After watching it she and her husband (she's never been overweight a day in her life, he's heavy) bought a juicer and tried it. I watched it, was very impressed, and mentioned to my sister that I was thinking about doing a juice fast in a month or so. She said that they had ordered a new, better juicer and I could have the old one, leading me to plan my fast for when they received the new one.
Anyway, she called last night and asked if I were busy, and could I meet her downstairs with the cart from the utility room downstairs. So I went out with the cart, and she had a brand new Black and Decker juicer and 8 (count 'em, 8) bags of fruit and vegetables from Walmart! Including lots of kale, honeydew melons, celery, carrots, apples, broccoli, oranges, spinach, pomegranates, cucumbers and a pineapple. There's probably some stuff I forgot, but it's all piled in the refrigerator.
So, this morning I put kale, carrots and apples in the ole' juicer and it actually tastes good! I don't like celery or cucumbers, but I'll try them. Maybe they aren't too bad with pomegranates or something.
I'm going to give away the eggs my sister gave me when her husband started his fast, and I'm officially started on my fast. Everything that won't last is in the freezer or will be donated to friends.
The first few days are supposed to be the hardest. I plan to blog every day, to help keep myself on track. Here I go!
