This has been/will be a fantastic weekend.
My younger brother, Jordan, is home for two days from Army training. I haven't seen him since Christmas, and before that Halloween when he shipped off for basic training so - I can't believe I'm saying this - I miss him and generally delighted to have him home. He's not as bad as I remembered ;)
He's training to be an interrogator, and I had a little fun with him. I said, "I can still tell when you're lying." Now that he's an expert on body language, finding the truth and hiding the truth, he thought not. Well I got his cheeks pink and the little dimples at the sides of his mouth came out ... and all I did was look at him! His officers say he's one of the very best in his class so it was a little nice to humanize him just a little bit.
The family and I attended a high school graduation for Jordan's ex-girlfriend slash close friend. I might add she's the only girl he has brought home that I really liked.
The family and I ate at my favorite restaurant tonight, Bravo's. I had the chianti braised beef ravioli with sweet potato, which was divine. And of course the tiramisu which is probably my all-time favorite dessert!
In other news I am cleaning my room so I can upload before pictures and progress pictures. I know before pictures should really happen now, but my dirty clothes aren't in the clothes hamper and four junior cartons right in the middle of the floor and you don't need to see that. I should be able to post some pictures of my new house and lovely new room hopefully before June!
So far I have lost 2.2 pounds on my mad dash to June ... before the tiramisu mind you. (I started "mad dashing" I think on the 22nd, where I told myself to get in gear for the summer and my birthday).
Speaking of, I was born on the official Memorial Day, May 30th, and I will be 25 in 3 days.
There is no chance of me being called in to work on Monday. And no chance on Wednesday either because I am taking my birthday off!
Wishing all of you a lovely holiday weekend!
