Having FUN: Why Music is So Important

Saturday, May 26, 2012

hello lovelies!

why listen to music while exercising?

Because the words are motivational, esp. in "move along" by the all-american rejects.
plus an up-beat song will get you moving!

other suggestions, not by me but by fellow SPer, "NIFEANDERSON":

"Better Than" John Butler Trio
"Steady, As She Goes" The Raconteurs
"Closer to Me" Dar Williams (starts kinda slow but good for warmup)
"Stolen Car" Beth Orton
"Be My Yoko Ono" Barnaked Ladies
"I Won't Be Your Yoko Ono" Dar Williams (obviously, this has to follow BL, though the tempos are different)
"Perfect Crime #2" Decemberists
"Jetstream" Doves
"Come on Home" Franz Ferdinand
"Anything Can Happen" Finn Brothers
"The World on a Shoestring" Josh Joplin
"Love Will Tear Us Apart" Joy Division
"Clone" Leo Kottke and Mike Gordon
"I Alone" Live
"Wandering Star" Portishead (good for cooldown)
"A Change Would Do You Good" Sheryl Crow
"Strong Black Vine" Tori Amos
"Cornflake Girl" Tori Amos
"Wednesday" Tori Amos (Obviously, I have a thing for Tori Amos stuff. Not everyone's cup of tea, I know.)
"Seven Nation Army" White Stripes
"Birdhouse in Your Soul" They Might Be Giants
"Season of the Shark" Yo La Tengo
