I just got home from my shopping evening, and I am so sore and tired you can't believe it. But I'm also as hyper as a kid on her birthday.
I met my friend at Kohl's and we each grabbed a cart because I planned to buy a LOT. So here's the list I ended up with:
A Black & Decket toaster oven
A Kitchen-Aid stand mixer (red!)
A stand mixer cover
A Food Network signature hand mixer
A set of Bobby Flay enamel nonstick cookware (also red)
A large covered saute skillet that matches the cookware
A set of Bobby Flay Classica flatware
We got to the register and almost didn't get out because there was a security device on the stand mixer package and the clerk couldn't figure how to get it off (apparently if it's done wrong it sets off a hideous alarm). She called in the manager, and HE couldn't get it off either. He even went and got another package and STILL couldn't get it off. Then this little clerk, Andrea, just popped it off without a thought. GIRL POWER! Also, they didn't have the cookware I wanted on display and I didn't think I could get it. Andrea found me a set. Did I mention that Andrea totally rocks? Oh, and I'm keeping the end flap from the cookware box. The picture is...well...
But the good luck continues! The entire set would have cost me $1,100 at regular price. Because I got there on Friday night and there was also another special promotion going on, I got it all for $800. AND I got $150 in Kohl's cash, which I have to use next week (hello, immersion blender and new pillows!), Taken all together, that means it came to about $650, just over half price.
I'm paying in another way right now. I had to walk the entire length of Kohl's, a few laps of the kitchen department, AND stand a long time at the register. I already hurt, and tomorrow is going to be even worse. But tomorrow I have to go to the post office and pick up my three new cookbooks. I also have to finish cleaning the kitchen and get my new goodies set up.
I'm going to be thrilled with my new things when I stop hurting enough to enjoy them!
