WUB -- Weekly update blog

Friday, May 25, 2012

This week went by pretty quickly. I was so happy to see a loss on the scale on Wednesday. I weigh myself every morning while hubby is in the shower. I yelled out "finally" When I saw the number on the scale. I told him it has been months with just a little loss. For a chick that was losing 2-3 pounds a week 3 months with no big loss is hard.

I get on the scale every morning. I know some people say weekly or monthly but every morning is working for me. I take in to consideration that some days are going to be up and some are going to be down. Since Wednesday I have weighed 211 or so each day. I will not count that weight until next week. Lots of things could happen to make that change.

I also went to a cardiologist this week. He says my irregular heart beat can be the sign of a weak heart so we are doing more tests. I spent 24 hours with a Holter monitor on and it was awful. Those electrodes were uncomfortable and tore my skin when they were removed. I will also do an echocardiogram next week. Maybe they will say my job is too stressful and tell me to quit. :)
The whole heart rhythm could be nothing so I am not too worried yet. I joke that only I can lose almost 110 pounds and still have heart problems.

Here is an update on my goals:

Thanks to being sick I may not make this one. However I have made my exercise more intense each workout so I am not just getting in minutes.

I try not to weigh myself all the time. I would go crazy. But good for you that you don't let it bother you the up and down of the scale. Way to go.

When it comes to weighing, I think we each do what works for us. One of the things I love about Sparking is finding out what works for me.

    Thanks everyone!!

So good to know I am not the only one weighing myself daily. In the past I avoided the scale and that is when I got into trouble.

I weigh myself all times of the day, just out of curiosity of how eating this or drinking that affects it. It's clinical, not emotional emoticon . Just a fun fact. emoticon Can't wait to get back in the pool.

Sounds like other than being ill you'd have met your goals no no worries. I pretty much scrapped the 1st 2 weeks of May but got back on track. Hope you get good news from the Cardiologist. Have a great weekend :)

Good luck at the doctors Karen, hope everything turns out OK. So glad to see the scale is moving again, and wow, your goals are so intense, that just shows we have to up the different things we're doing as we get smaller. Good luck.

I weigh myself every day too.... I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as it's not causing you to develop a complex or anything. Hope you feel better soon and that the heart rhythm returns to normal... good luck and good health
