Today I used Visual Basic 2010 Express Edition to start writing my own console-based program in Visual Basic to do calorie and fitness counting, just for fun. I'm going to enter all the foods I use regularly into the food database of the program, and it will be a useful software engineering exercise to design the program.
I didn't do my walking today to have time to write parts of the program, but I plan to walk more tomorrow as I might not be doing my grocery shopping early in the day tomorrow.
I regularly use the grocery list feature of the Nutrition tracker to compose my daily grocery lists and I enter my grocery store receipt total and per item prices into the Database Oasis data files I created. This means I am usually well stocked with healthy food on a daily basis.
My son really liked his dinner tonight which was a Teriyaki stir-fry frozen vegetable kit with grilled turkey fillets cut up over instant boil in a bag brown rice. I'm glad I cooked for my family tonight over ordering out or eating fast food. I might really have to go grocery shopping tomorrow to keep it up tomorrow though.
It's a sunny hot long weekend and I was thinking of eating out somewhere that has a patio like Gahanna Grill. Hopefully I'll order healthy if we ate out one meal on the long weekend. Another nice thing to do on the long weekend would be to have a cooler out on the back deck.
I'm still reading Ultra Metabolism by Mark Hyman and I went to the library and got out some more diet and fitness books today and returned three books I wasn't interested in much. The books included Walk Away the Pounds and a book on walking.
