I have been doing WW for a while, with success, but continue to feel so bad every day. I have IBS-C, which I attribute a lot of my issues to and have been doing some study on that. In doing so, I've become convinced that if I can clear all of the crap out of my system and start fresh, I will probably feel better.
My symptoms (despite pretty healthy eating--except cocktails):
* Fatigue, and I mean just bone grinding exhaustion, daily no matter the sleep the night before;
* Sleep: sometimes uninterrupted all night, but more often waking around 2 or 3 for an hour;
* Depression;
* Lack of concentration/focus, being forgetful;
* Unenthusiastic about doing anything, even watching my most favorite boy in the work play baseball.
The more you read from people, with much higher intelligence and pay grade than me, is first of all how much the intestines affect the rest of the body. I don't know about you, but until I started have digestive issues I never put much thought into the things. Apparently they function no unlike our brains, receiving, transmitting, & deciphering data.
So, if this massive part of your inner workings is in distress (inflammation), it would make sense that it would affect other processes. If for no other reason than you body focuses on it to get it right.
And when you step back and look at the kinds of things that we should use for our fuel, you might also note that it gets harder & harder to find actual straight from nature food. So much of today's food selection (especially in Southern North America) is for cost and convenience. It's a struggle to get direct food from a grower or reasonable shop from a store with organic sections.
But, I digress. I am trying the Quantum Wellness Cleanse by Kathy Freston and apparently this cleanse has been done by Oprak (bot the link to her blog on it was broken). I like that her plan, if you follow it, take you through other facets of our person that need to be cleansed too. Meditating for inner work and spirituality. I'm confident that the author of this book does not look at that the same way I do, which is fine if it's done in a way maintain respect between us.
I've read the Introduction & the lists of what can be allowed and the ones that can not. Not too bad, nothing I'm worried about. Right now, I'm hoping to feel better in pretty short order! Everyday so many people eat, drink, and enjoy cocktail hour each day without a second though to what exactly they are putting into their lives. Consider how many times in day, we're just on auto pilot.
I'll be easing into it.
