I'm Gaining Weight

Thursday, May 24, 2012

265.8
Any day now I will be dropping many pounds, thatís the thought that keeps me motivated. I know itís impossible to cut your calorie intake and gain weight, but tell that to my bodyís metabolism. I am looking at the big picture long term.
My goal today is to plan my Saturday dinner out. I will be going to the restaurants website and studying their menu and try and come up with the meal that will keep me on track. I need to get past this in order to keep the monument going. Tomorrow I will discuss my menu choices and their calories.
Now if only my body would cooperate I would feel better.

Throw your scale out the window! I only 'weigh" when I visit the doc...approx. every month-month and a half. This helps to keep me focused on living a healthier lifestyle for long term benefits rather than instant (and often misleading) gratification. Try and take your pride points from internal cues (feel better, able to walk further, able to make good choices on what you eat, etc.) rather than external ones (bathroom scale, someone else who does/doesn't notice/support you). It's what is working for me.

    You can do it,
Hey if I can I'm sure you can.
Just don't get too down if the scales tell you a different story,
Its not just what you eat, it is also what you do (exercise)

I know what you mean. I've gained while doing everything right. I can't figure out how to make the scale move in the right direction all the time but I have faith that it will eventually if I stick to the program.

I have to say, I about laughed myself to tears when I read an encouraging post from a new member that pretty much said, "Don't worry about it. I've only lost 10 pounds and it took an entire Month to do it."

Oh my, that was the funniest thing I ever read . . . . emoticon

I'm cheering you on! We can do this even if at a snail's pace. emoticon
