Heart broken

Thursday, May 24, 2012

So, we were shopping over the weekend for some new outfits for our 1 & 4 year old. I found the cutest outfit with ruffles that came in both our daughters sizes....my 4 year old says to me as I showed it to her..."mommy that's for babies..is it sisters size?" I looked at my 4 year old and said WHAT did you say? For babies? Yes mommy.
When did this happen! She broke my heart....I guess that means she's really not a baby...she is trying to express herself and I guess it's alright as long as we keep it monitored.I guess this point comes to every mother sooner or later...it's just hard to accept. She's our first and I can't believe this. Well, we have her sister andwehave a little while longer so we can enjoy it while we can...before the other half of my heart breaks.

My kids are 20 and 17 now and I still remember every time my heart broke more as they grew and became more independent. It is tough. Enjoy every minute of every day you have with them. It is gone in the blink of an eye!

I love this blog! I have felt the same way as 4 year old daughter grows. My 1 year old is a boy so I feel like the little girl stuff will never come again. Little boy stuff is good too, but it is sad to see my babies growing up into big kids. I feel you pain!
